I'm also back to Singapore. We spent 3 weeks in Portugal over Christmas and New Year's. It was good to be back. Despite the cold, the sun was shining in Lisbon and the city looked incredibly beautiful! We hung out with friends and family, noticed how all the kids had grown so much in the 8 months we were away and noticed how some things will never change. But I have to say, it's great to be in Singapore as well. This is also our home now.
The Portuguese are generally quite emotional and nostalgic (pardon me for the generalisation). The tastes of home can immediately take us back to slow evenings having grilled fish and wine by the beach, doing a picnic under the pine trees or having dinner and drinks with friends at Bairro Alto. It's magic! And we wanted to bring some of that with us, so we can slowly enjoy them throughout the year. We made sure we used up all of our luggage allowance. :)
So here's a sneak peek of some of the things we brought. They are actually not limited to food and drinks, you know. I also brought toiletries and books. It's fine to read in English, but there's nothing like reading in your native tongue.
I wonder what other nationalities would choose to take abroad with them. Any ideas?
