It might sound like a cliche but nothing really does prepare you for the arrival of a newborn. No matter how many books you read, how much "advice" you get or how confident you think you are. It's a challenge to always feel uncertain, to feel mentally tired (much more than physically really) and to keep things running at the same time (you have to rest, you have to eat, you have to drink, you have to pee, you have to shower).
The first post-baby post is about these delicious lactation cookies. You can find the recipe here.
They are easy to make and are full of good stuff. In case they do not help increasing milk supply (it's hard to tell), they at least make a great snack. And you do need to eat well if you are breastfeeding. The recipe makes a really big batch, but they keep well in a sealed container in the fridge and freezer.
This was my first baby wearing accomplishment: baking the cookies from beginning to end with the baby sleeping in the wrap. I was so proud of us! In the early weeks when we were still trying to adapt to each other, we found a way to make the both of us happy. Baby sleeps. Mum can actually so something. :)
I am not planning to restrict the blog to baby stuff, but it is the predominant topic in my life right now, so I imagine it will be visible here too. Let's see what comes next...
Until the next post, have a happy nice day!
